The horses of Rising Phoenix each have a story. Some were rescued from uncertain futures. Others found their way to us through different paths. Today, they share something in common: a safe home, a purpose, and the opportunity to change lives.

LYNNIE

From fear to trust

Lynnie came to Rising Phoenix in July 2024 after being discarded with an embedded halter. She was thin, frightened, and deeply unsure of the people around her.

Today, Lynnie is thriving. Her anxiety continues to improve as she learns that she is safe, and underneath all that fear has emerged a bright, funny redhead with plenty of personality. Lynnie has become a valued member of the Rising Phoenix family - and a beautiful reminder of what patience, consistency, and a safe place to land can do.

ARCHIE

We saved each other:

Archie came to Rising Phoenix in December 2023. After a career on the racetrack and later as a show horse, an injury left him unwanted, and he eventually found himself in the slaughter pipeline.

Archie arrived shortly after the loss of Logan, at a time when there was an enormous hole in our hearts. We may have rescued Archie, but in many ways, Archie rescued us too. He found his forever home at Rising Phoenix, where he is safe, loved, and will never again have to wonder where he belongs.

MELODY

Learning that she matters.

Melody came to Rising Phoenix known only as #623. She had been bred at just two years old, delivered her foal at three, and was eventually discarded into the slaughter pipeline.

Her foal, Perry, tragically died from Strangles, leaving Melody to begin yet another chapter of her young life. A quirky Quarter Horse, with a strong personality, Melody is learning the basics at her own pace. We are taking our time with ridden work, allowing her the patience, consistency, and security she was never given before.

At Rising Phoenix, Melody is no longer a number. She has a name, a home, and all the time she needs.

MORE THAN A RESCUE

Every horse who comes to Rising Phoenix has a story.

Their experiences may be different, but each has known some form of uncertainty, transition, or loss. Here, they are given the time and security to discover what comes next.

And sometimes, as they learn to trust again, they become part of that same journey for someone else.

They are not tools for recovery. They are partners in it.
